Questi delicati e minuscoli fiori azzurri si chiamano: Lemmikki in finnico (Myosotis) e si trovano presso i corsi d’acqua e i luoghi umidi in primavera. In Italiano li chiamiamo: “Non ti scordar di me”; da non confondere con gli altri piccoli fiorellini selvatici azzurri denominati: “Occhi della Madonna”! Le mie foto provengono parte dall’Italia e parte dalla Finlandia, poiche’ li troviamo in entrambi i Paesi.
L’origine del loro buffo nome si fa risalire al momento della creazione del mondo, quando Dio stava nominando tutte le specie di piante; questi fiorellini, temendo di essere dimenticati, gridarono: “Non ti scordar di noi!” ; a quel punto Dio decise che quello sarebbe stato il loro nome. Forget-me-not.
These little delicate azure flowers are called Lemmikki in Finnish and Scorpion grasses in English (Myosotis). Another very common name for them is: “Forget me not”. They prefer moist habitats and can be found in all western Eurasia. My photos were taken partly in Italy and partly in Finland.
The funny name of: “Forget me not” comes from a German legend: at the moment of the creation of the universe, God named all types of plants; these flowers, being so tiny, were afraid to be skipped; so they cried: “Forget us not!” and God decided that this would be their name ever.
